Below is an altered canvas I did as part of a birthday present to my travelin' buddy. I painted the canvas first with Plaid Folk Art paint in the Linen color. Then I sponged the edges with CTMH Desert Sand ink. I also colored the chipboard letters with Desert Sand. Kim loved it!!

All the ones I've seen, Cheryl, have been hung just as they are. The edges are all painted so it won't look unfinished.
