Happy Monday!  School is almost out in this neck of the woods. Just three more days. Hopefully, Mother Nature is going to cooperate!  We've had a foot of rain here since the beginning of May.  We're floating and she just keeps adding more.  UGH!!

Hopefully, today's Magic Monday layout will have everybody thinking summer.

Create a Card

Happy Wednesday!!

Today's Create a Card was created using CTMH's Tommy papers and the April Stamp of the Month as part of our Stamp a Stack club.

Here are the instructions:

4 ¼” x 5 ½” side fold card base

4 ¼” x 5 ½” Honey card stock

3” x 3 ½” Honey card stock

4” x 5 ¼” Large Print Tommy Background and Texture paper

3 ¾” x 5” Stripe Tommy Background and Texture paper

2 ¼” x 4” Outdoor Denim card stock

White card stock piece will be cut down to 2 ¾” x3 ¼”, but start with a larger piece.  You will stamp the round stamp four times on this larger piece so that it can be cut down to create a square with no open spots on the outside.  The middle will have an open space, but you’ll attach the sentiment over it. After cutting down, stamp “You’re Tweet” with Outdoor Denim.

Attach Large Print Background and Texture paper to Honey card stock.  Attach Stripe Background and Texture paper to it.  Attach Outdoor Denim card stock ¾” from bottom and ½” from left.

Mat sentiment square on Honey card stock and attach to card front 1” from bottom and ½” from right.  Attach Outdoor Denim sentiment with foam dots in center to cover unstamped spot.

It's another Monday!!  I hope your week is off to a great start!

Happy rainy Friday!

I happened to walk into the room yesterday when the last five minutes of the Steve Hardy show was on.  You know that last segment he has at the end of the show called "Just One More Thing".  Yesterday's segment had a teenager by the name of LD Miller playing the harmonica.  Boy...could this guy play!  He's added some beat boxing to his harmonica playing now.  I'd never heard of him before, but evidently he's been playing since the age of 6 or 8...can't remember now.  Anyway, I went searching You Tube this morning to see if the video was on there and it was!

These Smell Great!

Happy Thursday!! I ran out last night and took a few pictures of some of my flower beds. We're expecting 2-3 days of rain with as much as 4-5 inches. So, I know these beds are going to be ruined by the time it gets done. My lilacs were gorgeous and then the rains came and they were brown in a couple of days.

This garden smells so good! I could stand there and sniff all day. Wish I had smellablog so you could smell it also.

Please excuse the few weeds in it.  I went out to weed the other day and there were more bees than flowers.  I'm allergic to bees, so, I thought it best to get the heck out of there.  The pink peonies are such old plants.  We've been in this house for 38 years and they were here when we came.  There's not as many as there used to be as I dug some up and gave them to our daughter.  There used to be a big mulberry tree in the middle but it was hit by lightening and we had to take it down.  Now, the song goes...round and round the mulberry bush...did they not know they grew into trees?  LOL!  The one that was in this bed we think was started by a little bird poop.   You see, the birds love those berries and there was no tree in this bed.  We had a huge mulberry tree about 20 feet before this one. The berries are full of seeds. All of a sudden we saw the one growing in this bed.  Oh joy!!  Do you have any idea what a mess they make?  LOL!  Our daughter used to love to sit under the big tree and play.  The yard was always a mess with berries falling off the trees.  Her bare feet and her little butt were purple every night.  Not to worry tho, lemon juice will take it right off :)  Both trees are gone now....I'm so sad....NOT!  :) 

Now, I have a little PSA.  I don't know if you've ever heard about Zenni Optical online.  Our son wears glasses and won't wear sunglasses because he can't see far away without his glasses. I wanted to get him a set that change with the sunlight, but I wasn't sure if he would wear them.  I sure didn't want to pay $300-$400 for a set of glasses that he wouldn't wear. I heard about Zenni Optical on Two Peas in a Bucket and decided to try them out.  I couldn't believe the prices!!  $6.95 for frames!  $19.00 for the photogray process! $4.95 for the anti-reflection.  The protective coat is free.  I got him a new set of glasses for $35, and that included the shipping!  They just came today and they are really nice.  So, if you're looking for a place to get less expensive glasses, be sure to check it out.

Create a Card

Good morning!  I hope you are having one!  I think I will be as I need to get outside and plant some bulbs and finish placing the outdoor garden items in the yard.  We're supposed to get heavy rains for Friday and Saturday, so I want to make sure I have it done so I can play with paper over the weekend :)

Today's Create a Card was created using CTMH's April Stamp of the Month as part of the monthly Stamp a Stack club.

The paper used is CTMH's Claire paper packet.

Here are the instructions:

4 ¼” x 5 ½” side fold card base

4 ¼” x 5 ½” Outdoor Denim card stock

2 ¾” x 4” Outdoor Denim card stock

4” x 5 ¼” Claire Floral Background and Texture paper

2 ½” x 3 ¾” Claire Sunset Background and Texture paper

Stamp balloon with Sunset and Outdoor Denim ink.  Curve the sentiment on your block and stamp with Outdoor Denim on white card stock. Hand cut to make banner.  Attach to a piece of Outdoor Denim card stock and cut around it to form banner.

Attach Claire Floral Background and Texture paper to Outdoor Denim card stock

Attach Claire Sunset Background and Texture paper to Outdoor Denim card stock.  Attach spiral at top right. Attach stamped balloon and matted sentiment as shown.

Here's a new Magic layout that I created using the CTMH Dakota My Reflections Kit.  It was created using Studio J.  I love all the fun My Stickease that comes with the Dakota kit.  Of course, when you're scrapping in Studio J, you can use the My Stickease over and over :)
