November Club projects

I have to say, I'm quite pleased with how all of these layouts turned out! You know how sometimes, they have to grow on you.....well, these I liked from the start. LOL!

Above are the Stamp a Stack cards. We used the Tag the Occasion stamp set for these. I didn't realize how many circles I had used until I started punching them to pack in the club kits. LOL!! My room looks like a disaster at the moment. With all my scrapping/stamping stuff and all of my sewing materials out, it was easier to punch the circles than it was to move things to get to the Cricut and to find a place to put it. LOL!!

For the Cherish Club, we used X7130B Mistletoe Level 2 kit. I love these papers! They are such traditional and elegant papers. Love the Mistletoe embellishments also!

And, for our Imagine Club, we used the beautiful X7119B Veranda Level 2 kit.
If you'd like to join any of the clubs, whether you are local or long distance, drop me an email and I'll give you all the details!

October Club Projects

I had a great time making these cards! I love Christmas anyway, so, even tho it's only October, it sure is time to crank up the holiday music and do some creating. Below are the cards for the October Stamp a Stack club. We're using CTMH C1424, Nature's Gift. This is also a great set for the man of the house, as pairing the animals with a masculine paper, one can make some great "man" cards.

For the Cherish Club, we're using the CTMH Olivia papers. These papers are so pretty and I love the variation in the papers.

For the Imagine Club, we're using the retiring CTMH Notebook papers. I love these papers and hated to see them go. So glad I had picked up a few extra packages before they were on the $2,$4,$6 sale!

I hope you like them!

New Orphan Foal pics

I can't believe he's going to be 3 months old tomorrow! Man, did that time fly by! I'm in the process of weaning him off the bottle, and it's so sad as he just loves his bottles. He can suck down those 8 ozs. in a matter of seconds. LOL!! I finally was able to stop getting up to feed him in the middle of the night a couple of weeks ago. To illustrate how quickly he can down two 8 oz bottles...I would get up at 2am, heat the bottles, feed him, then fall back into bed, usually by 2:10! LOL!! I think I was already asleep by the time I got back into the house. LOL!! Here's a couple of new pictures. These were taken a couple of weeks ago. How cute is he?! We're now putting him out in the paddock for a few hours every few days.

Busy, busy, busy!

I can't believe it's been so long since I updated my blog! I've been very busy! The orphan horse is doing so well! He turned 7 weeks old this week and has really filled out. I'll try to get a picture, but it's getting harder and harder. He's a very wild boy and is all over the stall. One needs to watch their back at all times. LOL!! I'm so pleased to see him do so well!

Also, wanted to give you a heads up. Close To My Heart had their convention last week and eight colors are being retired. The ones retiring are: Clover Meadow, Hydrangea, Orange, Star Spangled Blue, Bubblegum, Citrus Leaf, Ocean, and Watermelon. So, if any of those are on your favorites list, I'd grab the products now as there's no way to know how long they will still be around.

Have a wonderful day, everybody!

Update on my little man-man

He is so cute...I just can't stand it! He's made it through a week of bottle feeding and seems to be doing well. It's going to take awhile to put any meat on the little guy. :( He's starting to cop a tude tho! LOL!! He gets an attitude when the bottles run dry and will pin his ears. LOL! I just tried to take a new picture, but he's too fast for me. LOL! I run from one side of the stall to the other and by the time the camera gets focused he's standing right in front of me again. LOL! Keep thinking positive thoughts for him, as he's not totally out of the woods yet.

Our newest addition

How cute is this little guy?? He is such a sweety. :) He was born Wednesday evening. Looks to be a little preemie as he is small. As planned, we were there when he was born and stayed right there as we weren't sure how his mom would be as a mom. She had a foal last year that was badly deformed and only took a couple of breaths. She put her hoof on it's heart, so we weren't sure if that was just animal instinct, or if she meant to be mean. Anyway, we decided we needed to stay right with her until we knew how she would react. After about an hour, it was obvious that this little guy would not be safe with her, so we had to separate them. So, now he's my bottle baby....although I think he thinks I'm his mom :) He's flying around the stall already and it was hard to snap any pictures as I'd run to one side of the stall and before the camera would focus, he'd be right in front of me again. LOL!! After trying to snap the pictures, he decided it was time to eat again...think of the movie where the baby says Lunch. LOL! Can't remember the name of it :)

Now, I' sure you're wondering why I have this picture of my finger here. The strangest thing happened! While feeding the little guy, some of his mother's milk got on my hands. In less than a minute my middle finger started to swell. It became purple and full of edema so that I couldn't even bend it. There were no cuts on the finger to let the milk get under the skin. I came in and washed it, iced it and even put some Benedryl spray on it. I'm assuming it's an allergic reaction to the mother's milk, so now I'm using a plastic glove on that hand just in case. It's still swollen this morning and even more purple than it was yesterday. Hopefully, it goes away quickly!

May Cherish and Imagine Club projects

I absolutely love the new X7126B Passages My Reflection Level 2 kit. We're using it for our May Cherish Club. I love how we can rotate the pages in Cherish and Imagine and create a totally different looking layout.

For the Imagine club, we're using the ever popular, goes with anything X7090B Silhouette My Reflections Level 2 Kit.

Both of these kits were designed using the new Studio J digital scrapbook program. Have you tried it yet? If not, go to my website and click on the Studio J link. Be sure to check out the exclusive to Studio J My Reflections kits. There are now three different kits that are only available through Studio J.
Are you interested in joining either the Cherish or Imagine clubs? For only $20 (includes postage) you will receive 1/2 package of the My Reflections kit and all the papers and embellishments you'll need to create the layouts. Email me if you have any questions. I'd love to have you join us!

Special Order

This is one of my latest creations. With the internet, it's so easy to find photos and sketches to draw from. I think I'll branch out now and do a jumping horse. It's horse show time locally with two of the biggest horse shows of the season, so I need to get busy and tackle a jumper. Who knows if it will sell or not, but, I won't know unless I try :)

Pippy LongLegs

LOL! Not sure what her official name will be, but this name suits her well :) She's a sweety and so laid back. She needs a good brushing off on this picture!
Not sure if it's something in the water, but, it seems like it's a filly (girl) year! We've had two fillies and our daughter has had 4 fillies and one colt (boy).

Out to Play

Remember the filly that was born prematurely? Well, here she is at 5 weeks old! She has made such a recovery and is so sweet and strong. Today was her first day out to play.

April Club Projects

I had so much fun creating these! For the Imagine Club, we used one of the older My Reflections Level 2 paper packets, X7091B It's a Guy Thing. Along with that, I used the Antique Copper Accents, Z1275.

It turns out that the above layout, Conclusion Combo from Imagine, is Helen O's Scrapbook Challenge #54

For our Cherish Club, we are using X7122B You Rock My Reflections Level 2 paper packet. This is such a fun paper to work with! There are so many combinations to go with since our B&T's are double sided. I still have lots of paper left and will be making a layout using the purple side as I just loved it! For the Club, I wanted to make a layout that could be used for anyone. I also used the new Top Coats, Rockin', Z1272.

Our Cherish Club will be using the Enjoy Every Moment (C1395) My Acrylix stamp set.

If you have any questions about any of my clubs, just shoot me an email. I'd love to have you join us and there's freebies for you to boot!

Studio J Hippity Hop

Close To My Heart has been busy adding many of the items that consultants have asked for during our beta testing period. These additions have made Studio J even easier to use! Below are two layouts I did using the exclusive Hippity Hop paper that's only available in Studio J. Guess how long it took me to do these layouts......1 hr...30 minutes...what do you think? I created both layouts in a total of 25 minutes! And, it only took me that long because I was checking out all of the My Stickease that comes with the kit! See the tag above EASTER? That was a blank tag that I added the Happy to. It's so easy to customize your layouts. And, what a great way to create a couple of books...one for each set of Grandparents. Can you imagine how long it would take to create just these four pages twice?

Heart2Heart Challenge #1

A number of Close To My Heart consultants have joined in a new challenge called the Heart 2 Heart challenge. Each challenge is based on a color combination. This weeks combination is Sweet Leaf, Sunflower and Chocolate.

I've created a double gate fold card

Here's the recipe:

  • 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" Chocolate Cardstock

  • 1 3/4" x 2 1/2" Chocolate Cardstock

  • 1 1/2" x 2 1/4" Sunflower Cardstock

  • 5 1/4" x 12" Sweet Leaf Cardstock

Score and fold the 5 1/4" x 12" Sweet Leaf cardstock at 2, 4, 8, & 10 inches. Fold as shown in the photo. Stamp stem with Sweet Leaf ink on folded Sweet Leaf cardstock. Stamp flower with Sunflower ink on scrap of sunflower cardstock and cut out. Stamp center with Chocolate ink. Stamp sentiment on Sunflower cardstock with Chocolate ink. Stamp remainder of sentiment inside the card with Chocolate. Mat sentiment to Chocolate cardstock. Adhere flower on right side of card being sure to only put adhesive on the right side of flower. Adhere matted sentiment on card front as shown, being sure to only put adhesive on part of the back. Attach back of card to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" Chocolate Cardstock piece.
