29 Layouts in 29 Days - Day 25

There's a lot of love that went into this layout.  When this guy was born, his mom did not want him and tried to step on him within minutes of him being born.  Thankfully, we were with them when he came into this world.  His mom had put very little into him while she was carrying him, so, he was extremely skinny and small.  But, through hours and hours and days and days of feedings and love, he lived!  Many times they do not, so, this was a definite labor of love.  Within a week, he was running around his stall (as you can see in the layout). As soon as I came out with the camera, he would run toward me, so, it was hard to get any good pictures of him.  By the time I had him focused, he was on top of me.  LOL!!

We call him the beast as he doesn't know he's a horse.  He wants to play and  thinks he's a human like us.  LOL!  He's been at the track and broken to race. He's smaller than most horses, but, he can trot.  So, we'll be bringing him home soon to grow and mature.  No matter what, he'll always have a home with us.  Since horses are a business for us, as much as we'd like to keep them all, it's just not possible. LOL!  My husband's favorite saying is "If you want a pet, get a parakeet"...obviously, they don't eat as much.  LOL!  Anyway, this guy will be our parakeet.  His name is Dhu Diligence.  His dad's name had Dhu in it, thus the reason for the spelling.  It was definitely due diligence that kept him alive for the first few weeks.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today. I know it's totally naive but I had no idea horse Moms could reject their babies- just writing that makes me sound like a goof. Sorry- city girl but this was a great read and I'm so glad to see he's doing better. Beautiful double page layout- love the circles versus squares design!
