Living out in the country affords us the joy of all types of birds. If you're not familiar with the Killdeer (the birds in the two pictures on the left page), they are so fun to watch. You can almost walk up to them before they take off running. You rarely see them fly away. When they're sitting on the ground, like they are in the top picture, it's because they've laid their eggs on the ground and are sitting on them to protect them. Nothing like laying them right where we drive though. LOL!!
We have a resident hawk...well, two actually. They've been here for a number of years.
